Application Support Manager

Responsibilities:

* Job Purpose:
* Activity ranges from all aspects of Oil, Gas and Chemicals sea born transport to specialist vessels such as offshore support vessels, tugs, floating storage and production vessels and dry cargo sea born transportation.

* The role will report to the Delivery Manager and will be part of the GP&R Function. The position is fully deployed within Shipping and will be responsible for the production environment used by Shipping’s global user community.

* The Shipping Team are a group of around 40 staff accountable for delivering a range of services to the Shipping business including:
* • Operational Support
* • Application Management
* • Project Management
* • Strategy & Architecture
* • Performance Management.

* Job Dimensions:
* Based in Singapore, this role provides a regional presence in support of a growing global business.


* The Application Support Analyst will form part of a team responsible for the delivery and support of a wide portfolio of business unit applications .
* The Application Support Analyst ensures new applications, enhancements to existing applications, and any other changes within applications or underlying infrastructure are properly accepted into operational support to mitigate risks associated with change. The Application Support Analyst is a key interface to the business; understanding demand and impact.


* The Application Support Analyst is required to work closely with the Service Management, Infrastructure and Desktop Support Teams to ensure effective customer support to the business, sharing information and knowledge wherever possible through process, dialogue, and collaborative working.


* Accountabilities:
* To communicate effectively with key business users and suppliers regarding day-to-day operational activities.
* To ensure that standard global processes are followed with regard to Problem / Incident / Release / Change and Configuration Management.


* Deliver the project based activities required Shipping portfolio without compromising daily support service delivered to business users.


* Create and maintain a climate of continuous improvement, proactively identifying opportunities for service improvements and internal efficiencies.


* To own the relationship with key business users, facilitating regular business relationship meetings designed to discuss operational performance, ongoing issues, new requirements and disater recovery./business continiuity.


* To deputise for the Delivery Manager as required.


* Experience:
* Essential
* ---------
* Proven ability in the management of IT Application Support and Delivery
* A high level of impact understanding is required
* Proven communications skills across a wide audience
* MS SQL server knowledge
* Technical design, implementation, training, data migration and support experience required
* Change Management experience required


* Preferred

* ITIL Foundation or Practitioner qualification
* Knowledge/experience of BP Shipping, it's business and it's applications portfolio
* A proven knowledge and experience of one or more of the core Shipping Applications;

Requirements:

* Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
* At least 8 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
* Applicants should be Malaysian, Singaporean, Filipino, Indian, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, Bangladesh, others, others citizens or hold relevant residence status.
* Preferably Managers specializing in IT/Computer - Software or equivalent.
* Full-Time positions available.
